Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Lotta. By accessing or using our 1-to-1 random video and text chat platform, you agree to be legally bound by all terms, safety standards, and policies described herein.

Welcome to Lotta ("Lotta", "Platform", "Service", "we", "us", or "our").

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lotta's website, mobile applications, and related services. By accessing or using Lotta, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Lotta.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

1. 18+ Eligibility

Lotta is an adults-only platform.

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction if it is higher.
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
  • Provide accurate age information when requested during onboarding.
  • Not misrepresent your age or attempt to circumvent Lotta's age restrictions.

Minors are strictly prohibited from using Lotta.

Lotta has zero tolerance for underage access and for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).

If we discover or have reason to believe that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may immediately and permanently terminate that account without notice.

You must not use Lotta to facilitate, promote, request, distribute, or engage in any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation, including CSAM, grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, or sexual exploitation of children.

2. User Accounts & Authentication

Access to core Lotta features may require authentication through a supported third-party authentication provider, such as Google.

You agree that:

  • Information provided during authentication is accurate.
  • You are authorized to use the account you authenticate with.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You are responsible for activity conducted through your account.
  • You will not sell, transfer, rent, or share your account with another person.

You must notify us if you believe your account has been compromised or used without your authorization.

3. The Lotta Service

Lotta provides a real-time 1-to-1 random video and text chat platform intended for social communication, entertainment, and recreational interaction.

The Service may connect you with strangers through:

  • Random matchmaking.
  • Optional shared-interest matching.
  • Text chat.
  • Peer-to-peer video and audio communication using WebRTC.

You acknowledge that people you meet through Lotta are strangers on the internet. You are responsible for exercising appropriate judgment, caution, and discretion during your interactions.

Lotta does not guarantee the identity, age, intentions, behavior, or accuracy of information provided by another user.

4. Ephemeral Communications

Lotta is designed around spontaneous, real-time communication rather than permanent conversation history.

  • Casual text conversations are not intended to be permanently stored or archived.
  • Peer-to-peer video and audio streams are not routinely recorded or archived by Lotta.
  • Transient room and matchmaking information is discarded when it is no longer required.
  • Safety telemetry, automated security signals, and report evidence may be temporarily processed or retained for moderation, abuse prevention, security, or legal purposes.

You should understand that communications associated with a report or safety investigation may be processed or retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

You must not assume that anything shared with another user is private from that person. Another user may independently disclose, copy, or otherwise misuse information you voluntarily share with them.

5. Code of Conduct

You agree to use Lotta lawfully and responsibly.

You must not:

  • Use Lotta for illegal or harmful activities.
  • Engage in or facilitate Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).
  • Create, request, possess, share, or distribute CSAM.
  • Groom, sexually solicit, or exploit minors.
  • Share or request sexual content involving minors.
  • Share nudity, sexual acts, or sexually explicit content.
  • Harass, threaten, bully, intimidate, or abuse other users.
  • Engage in hate speech or targeted hateful harassment.
  • Promote or facilitate violence or credible threats of harm.
  • Promote or facilitate self-harm.
  • Use Lotta to conduct scams, fraud, or other deceptive schemes.
  • Spam, advertise, or conduct unauthorized commercial promotions.
  • Impersonate another person or organization.
  • Share another person's private or sensitive information without authorization.
  • Record, screenshot, reproduce, or distribute another user's interaction without their explicit consent.
  • Use bots, automated scripts, scrapers, or other automated systems without our authorization.
  • Attempt to bypass, interfere with, or abuse Lotta's infrastructure.
  • Upload or distribute malware, viruses, or other malicious software.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, networks, or data.
  • Circumvent account restrictions, suspensions, or bans.
  • Use VPNs, proxies, alternate accounts, or other methods specifically to evade a Lotta ban.
  • Encourage or assist another person in violating these Terms.

Violations may result in warnings, temporary restrictions, permanent bans, removal of content, or reports to appropriate authorities where required or appropriate.

6. Child Safety

Lotta strictly prohibits Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).

Any attempt to use Lotta to abuse, exploit, groom, solicit, traffic, or sexually exploit a child is a serious violation of these Terms.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Creating, uploading, requesting, possessing, sharing, or distributing CSAM.
  • Sexual solicitation of a minor.
  • Grooming or attempting to groom a minor.
  • Sexualizing a child.
  • Arranging or facilitating sexual contact with a child.
  • Sextortion or threats involving sexual images of a child.
  • Trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation of children.
  • Using Lotta to facilitate any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation.

Users can report suspected child-safety violations through Lotta's in-app reporting tools or by contacting:

We may suspend or permanently terminate accounts involved in suspected violations and may preserve or disclose relevant information where required by law.

Where required by applicable law, suspected or confirmed CSAM or other reportable child exploitation may be reported to the appropriate authorities or designated child-safety organizations.

7. Moderation & Safety Enforcement

Lotta uses automated safety systems and administrative moderation to detect abuse, enforce these Terms, and protect users.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • Process messages or other content through automated moderation systems.
  • Analyze reported images or video frames for prohibited content.
  • Review reports submitted by users.
  • Temporarily capture or process evidence associated with a report.
  • Investigate suspected abuse or violations.
  • Restrict or remove access to features.
  • Suspend or permanently ban accounts.
  • Block associated accounts, identifiers, or network information where reasonably necessary.
  • Preserve relevant information for safety, legal, or security purposes.

We reserve the right to take action when we reasonably believe these Terms, our safety standards, or applicable laws have been violated. We may take action with or without prior notice when necessary to protect users, investigate serious abuse, or prevent continued violations.

You may use Lotta's built-in safety controls, including skipping users, blocking unwanted interactions where available, break friendship links by unfriending them, and submitting reports.

8. Account Suspension & Termination

You may stop using Lotta or delete your account through the available account settings.

We may suspend or terminate your access to Lotta if:

  • You violate these Terms or applicable policies.
  • You engage in abusive, harmful, fraudulent, or suspicious activity.
  • You attempt to evade a previous suspension or ban.
  • Your use creates a security or safety risk.
  • We are required to do so for legal or regulatory reasons.
  • We reasonably believe termination is necessary to protect users or the Service.

Serious violations, including CSAE, CSAM, exploitation of minors, severe harassment, malicious attacks, or repeated ban evasion, may result in permanent termination.

Termination does not prevent us from retaining information that we are legally required or reasonably permitted to retain for safety, security, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

9. Intellectual Property

All materials provided by Lotta, including but not limited to:

  • Software and source code.
  • User interfaces.
  • Branding and logos.
  • Graphics and artwork.
  • Pixel artwork.
  • Website design.
  • Features and functionality.
  • Documentation.
  • Other original Lotta content.

are owned by or licensed to Lotta and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Except where expressly permitted by us or applicable law, you may not:

  • Copy or reproduce Lotta's materials.
  • Modify or create derivative works from them.
  • Redistribute or publicly display them.
  • Sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit them.
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract protected components of the Service.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use Lotta for its intended personal purposes while you comply with these Terms.

10. User Content & Feedback

You retain ownership of content and information that you voluntarily submit to Lotta to the extent you have rights in that content.

By submitting content to the Service, you grant Lotta the limited rights necessary to host, transmit, process, display, and moderate that content solely for the purpose of operating, securing, and providing the Service.

This does not give Lotta ownership of your personal content.

You are responsible for ensuring that anything you submit does not violate these Terms, applicable law, or the rights of another person.

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you voluntarily provide to Lotta may be used by us to improve the Service without creating an obligation to compensate you.

11. Privacy

Your use of Lotta is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains:

  • What information we collect.
  • How we use and protect information.
  • How ephemeral communications are handled.
  • How moderation and safety processing works.
  • When information may be retained or disclosed.
  • Your privacy rights and choices.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.

12. Third-Party Services

Lotta may rely on third-party services to provide certain functionality, including authentication, hosting, infrastructure, security, moderation, analytics, and other technical services.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

Lotta is not responsible for the independent policies, practices, availability, or content of third-party services.

Your use of a third-party service may also be subject to that provider's terms.

13. Law Enforcement & Legal Compliance

We may preserve, access, or disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with valid legal process.
  • Respond to lawful requests from government authorities.
  • Investigate suspected illegal activity.
  • Address suspected child abuse or exploitation.
  • Protect users or other individuals from serious harm.
  • Protect Lotta's rights, property, infrastructure, or security.
  • Investigate serious security incidents or abuse.

Information may include account information, IP addresses, technical information, relevant session metadata, reports, moderation records, or other relevant evidence, subject to applicable law.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lotta is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will always be available.
  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • The Service will always be secure.
  • The Service will be free from bugs or technical failures.
  • User-provided information will be accurate.
  • Other users will behave appropriately.
  • You will be matched with a particular type of user.

Lotta does not screen or control every interaction between users.

You understand that interactions on Lotta are with strangers and that you use the Service at your own risk.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lotta, its developers, operators, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

This includes losses arising from:

  • User behavior or misconduct.
  • Harassment or abuse by another user.
  • Fraud or scams conducted by users.
  • Content shared by users.
  • Loss of data.
  • Service interruptions or downtime.
  • Security incidents beyond our reasonable control.
  • Your interactions with other users.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

16. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lotta, its developers, operators, contributors, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and reasonable expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of applicable law.
  • Your violation of another person's rights.
  • Content or information you submit through the Service.

17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Lotta shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising rights or pursuing remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect:

  • Changes to Lotta's features or services.
  • Changes to our safety practices.
  • Changes to applicable laws.
  • Changes to our operational requirements.

When we make changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page.

For significant changes, we may provide additional notice through the application, website, or other appropriate channels.

Your continued use of Lotta after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
