2. Is Lotta free to use?

Yes. Lotta is free to use. You can jump into random video or text matchmaking, filter by interest topics, and connect with people anytime.

3. Why do I need to sign in with Google?

We require Google authentication to keep our community safe and prevent bot abuse:

It keeps automated spam bots and fraudulent accounts out of matchmaking.
It enables reliable enforcement of permanent bans for abusive users.
Your personal email and real identity remain private and are never shared with strangers.

4. What is the age requirement?

Lotta is strictly 18+. Minors are prohibited from using the platform.

All users must confirm their birthdate during onboarding to verify age.
Any account identified as belonging to a minor is immediately and permanently removed.

5. What are the rules and prohibited behaviors?

We enforce strict zero-tolerance community guidelines to protect our community:

No nudity, sexual acts, or sexually explicit content.
No harassment, bullying, threats, or hate speech.
No recording, screenshotting, or sharing other users without explicit consent.
No bots, scrapers, automated scripts, or infrastructure abuse.
No commercial advertising, spam, scams, or impersonation.
No illegal activities, violence, weapons, self-harm, or malware.

6. Are video or text chats recorded or stored?

No. Privacy is central to Lotta:

1-to-1 video streams are transmitted directly between browsers using encrypted WebRTC.
Text chat messages are ephemeral and discarded as soon as you skip or end the session.
We do not store, archive, or sell your casual chat history.
Only temporary telemetry and user-submitted incident reports are reviewed for safety enforcement.

7. What should I do if a partner violates the rules?

You have complete control over your chat sessions:

Click "Next" or "Skip" to disconnect instantly and find a new partner.
Click "Report" during the call to flag bad behavior directly to our moderation team.
You can block users so you will never be paired with them again.

8. How does interest-based matchmaking work?

You can add topic tags before queueing:

If someone in the queue shares your selected interests, Lotta pairs you together.
If no exact interest match is waiting, Lotta seamlessly pairs you with a random partner so you never wait long.

9. Why is my camera or microphone not working?

If your video or audio isn't loading, check these quick troubleshooting steps:

Ensure you granted camera and microphone permissions in your browser.
Check that no other application is currently using your webcam.
Refresh the page and confirm you are connected via HTTPS.
Try switching input devices in your browser settings.

10. Can I stay in touch with people I meet?

Yes. If you enjoy chatting with someone, you can send them a friend request:

If they accept, you can message each other directly from your friends list.
You can toggle whether you wish to receive friend requests in Profile Settings.

11. How do I delete my account?

You have full control over your data:

Open Profile Settings and select "Delete my Account".
Confirm deletion to immediately purge your profile, tokens, and active data.
